Located just 25 km south of Porto, in Santa
Maria da Feira, next to the junction on the motorway which
connects Santa Maria da Feira and Lisbon, the EUROPARQUE is
an economic and cultural development project with features
unique in Portugal., It is the result of the vast experience
of the AEP – Portuguese Entrepreneurial Association,
which has been putting all its know-how at the service of
economic agents.
The complex generates events of an entrepreneurial as well
as cultural, scientific, technological and recreational nature.
There are various parts, conceived individually, but which
are an interactive, connected whole. And all of this enveloped
by an excellent natural landscape.
The EUROPARQUE occupies
a site covering a total area of 150 hectares, a space which comprises:
Congress Center Characterised by the flexibility of
the spaces which enable it to adapt to scales and initiatives
of all kinds: large conferences, sessions, seminars, conferences,
meetings, workshops, etc. This structure also means that several
events can take place simultaneously, without interfering with
one another.
Cultural Center This structure is an important added
value, since it allows events of an entrepreneurial nature to
be combined with cultural ones.
This is the stage where big concerts, musical shows, ballets
and other cultural displays take place.
Visionarium
Science Centre Committed to promoting science and considered
the second best Museum in Europe in 2000, the Visionarium contains
160 experiments which can be manipulated by the visitor, as
well as a permanent exhibition which is organised into five
thematic Odysseys: Earth, Matter, Universe, Life and Information.
In a park which covers two hectares, it also offers facilities
for outdoor activities and exhibitions.
IDIT
- Institute for Technological Development and Innovation This structure provides services for
research and development, and its main objective is to support
companies in the industrial sector in the technological areas
of laser materials processing, mechanical production on the
CIM platform, Industrial Vibrations and Acoustics, Environment
and Pollution, Industrial Production Planning and Control, and
Automation and Robotics.
PortusPark - Science and Technology
Park PortusPark is designed for and aimed
at sheltering technology based companies, preferably those
focused on the automobile sector, with a large innovative
capacity, research and development institutions (R&D)
and educational institutions, aiming to facilitate and enhance
synergies and promote reciprocal technology transfer processes.
The surrounding urban and environmental quality and the fact
there is a top-quality centre of scientific, technological
and formative skills nearby, contribute to this project's
great potential.
